Meet JOE MOTH, real name Joe Mothemane, a 22 year old rapper slash MC born and raised in the concrete jungle of Randburg. Joe Moth's true passion for rapping started in the year 2012 when he joined the circular rap crew AYAT GANG whose notable success was releasing an EP internationally. with the Ayat Gang, also came moving
to a township in the north-west of Johannesburg called Cosmo City. It is here, that the Ayat Gang thrived leading ton performances alongside Teargas, Big Nuz, Cashtime Fam, and even Kalawa's founder Oskido. In 2015, Joe Moth made a life transforming decision spiritually which ultimately saw him leaving the group, followed by a change in the lyrical content of his music. The move was indeed for the better. Joe Moth's brand has grown sporadically in a space of 6 months. He is now the most popular artist to come out of the Jozi North-western township Cosmo City; has secured a clothing endorsement deal; leads Sandwich Angels in Cosmo City (an initiative that feeds under-privileged children); has over a thousand followers on his Facebook page; and has a digital single on sale that has exceeded a thousand downloads in just 30 days.
